LONGTERMER #1: Update 26, August 2010: Ford Telstar 2.0i4 Ghia Auto

In this blog entry, I'm updating my ride.  The Ford Telstar 2.0i4 Ghia Auto.  This is the 26th Update.  What happened in the month of August? 

Early August, I drove my car to a FRIENDLY Accessories shop in Kg Melayu Subang, S.K. Auto Accessories Air-conditioning and Cushion.  Initially, I ordered UR Racing Front lower 4-point Anti-roll bar from them worth RM250 (paid RM40 deposit).  The, next day, the goods arrived but it WON'T FIT my car.  It's designed for Late 80s Telstar NOT for V6 body.  I then decided to Trade for HELLA Foglight bulbs (RM40). 

I also bought a Fire extinguisher (RM39), A Cupholder (RM8) and fixed my Central Locking gun (can auto lock but cannot auto un-lock).  Paid RM25 for it.

Previously, my boot's in a MESS, Super disorganised.  Thanks to Bonuslink, I redeemed a "BOOT ORGANISER".  Viola, my boot's Organised now (see picture).

On 12 August, I renewed my Road tax and Insurance.  While I'm in the Jaya One, post office renewing my roadtax, the Traffic Police came and issued me 2 summons.  1 for expired Roadtax and another for parking at yellow line. 

Also, Check this out (picture below).  What a coincidence, taken in TESCO Mutiara Damansara.

Over the last 2 weeks, I can hear the KROCK KROCK KROCK....  (Non stop) sound from the back of my car.  At first I taught it's the rear absorbers.  But it gets LOUDER AND LOUDER every day. This morning (30/8/2010), I send my car to the mechanic and upon inspection, my rear disk brake pad gone.  Metal grinding against metal, hence the Noise.  I ended up RM149.00 Poorer (the mechanic also topped up my Power Steering fluid).

Fuel consumption so far:
Best 10.2km/L (8 June 2010) (80% Highway Driving)
Worst: 5.9km/L (September 14,2009) 90% City driving

0-100km/h: 10.2 seconds (20/6/2010)

1) Hella Foglight bulb: RM40 (1 set)

LONGTERMER #1: Update 25, July 2010: Ford Telstar 2.0i4 Ghia

There's nothing much to update for July's edition of Ford Telstar 2.0i4 Ghia. This month, I only clocked 668kms. The only thing worth blogging is the NEW V-power 97.

The New V-power 97 makes my Telstar slightly more responsive with 10% improve in fuel efficiency. BUT Bad news, Petrol hike on 15 July 2010 stipulates that RON97 fuel's subject to FLOATING Mechanism.

WORST: 5.9km/l (September 14, 2009) => 100% City driving

THIS MONTH (July):
BEST: 8.9km/l on 18 July 2010 (80% Highway driving).
WORST: July 7: 6.2km/L, 90% City driving. I used either RON95, Shell RON 97 and Shell OR Mobil RON95 only.

0-100km/h: 10.2 secs (20/6/2010). Previous run 10.8 secs (1/1/2010).

TODAY, As at 30 July 2010,

Expenses (this month):

1) Petrol: RM160.
2) Toll: RM50
3) Parking: RM50
4) Car Wash: RM15

GRAND TOTAL: RM275

LONGTERMER #1: Update 24, June 2010: Ford Telstar 2.0i4 Ghia

In this blog entry, I am updating my Ford Telstar i4 Ghia. This is the 24th update. 

What's up in the month of June?

As I am typing this, the Telstar covered 1272km. Now, 155,238km. Previous month, it's 153,966km.

I kicked off on the 1st week of June driving the Telstar to Ipoh (day trip).  Brought my friend from Hong Kong there.  There's a saying a picture's worth 1000 words, here's some photos:

Above: See how spacious the Telstar.  Below: Ergonomic door (very comfortable)

Above: Reached Petaling Jaya.  2hrs, 30 mins journey.  Slight jam due to Agong's birthday (public holiday).

On June 15, I ordered K&N Drop-in Air filter from UK via Ebay.com (jaysperformance).  It costs £45 only (RM217.60 was billed to my Debit card).  I was quoted RM300 in Speedworks PJ, hence a savings of RM82.40.  See next post entry...

Three days ago, my car battery went flat.  My mechanic warned me last month that the battery's dying.  Still, I'm glad that it died after EXACTLY 2 years serving my car.  Not bad for a traditional battery (Acid).  The Telstar broke down outside my office, I have no Choice but to buy Battery from a tyre shop behind my office.  I was ripped off, RM250 for NS70 GP maintenance free battery.  This is a change of battery size, previously using "DIN55" (quoted RM280 for DIN55).

As a result, my battery bracket/mounting no longer fits.  Temporary left WITHOUT battery bracket/mounting (see photo)

LONGTERMER #1: Update 23, Ford Telstar 2.0i4 Ghia - PART 2

As promised, here's the 2nd part update on my FORD TELSTAR.  I was in Port Dickson, Glory Beach Resort to be exact last Friday to Sunday.  Well, there's a saying, a picture's worth 1000 words, Here are some pictures...

ON the way to Port Dickson, Friday 28 May 2010, 12pm... Via KL-Seremban Highway => NKVE => Port Dickson Highway => LUKUT.  SLOW TRAFFIC...

Reached destination after 1 hour 55 minutes despite slow traffic.  I stayed at 6th floor BLOCK E, Glory Beach Resort...
