Hi folks, this is the 2nd month of "MOST RECKLESS cars Count by make model". Like last month, I'll drive around random places (minding my own business, doing my everyday travel needs at the same time), looking for BULLY AND/OR RECKLESS drivers. I'll then count the occurence (kekerapan) of MAKE/MODEL driven by those bully. The following occurence would result NO PLATE being published AND/OR PHOTOS TAKEN:
A) REPEATED/More than 2 occurence reckless driving (same no plate)
B) MULTIPLE OFFENCES (Eg. Tailgating, Zigzagging, Hi-beam, Using Handphone ALL WITHIN SAY 3 MINUTES...)
C) SERIOUS OFFENCES. (Eg. Almost cause accident/harm)
Q: WHY I DID THIS?
A: Firstly, to proof to lots of my MYVI/KELISA/VIOS/KANCIL owning friends complaining "BIG CARS BULLYING THEM" AND on the other side, BIG CARS drivers/owners Complaining "SMALL CARS" Zigzagging, ie. bullying them... So who is CORRECT? Let's find out by doing this simple research...

1) "P" - PESTS drivers consists of 1/3 of the occurences,,, They either drive too fast or crawling... Can't they drive normally?
2) This is pretty much consistent compared to last month's statistics. The top 5 remains the same. So my conclusion: More car on the road = more occurences.
3) * = Wira family consists of Wira, Satria, Putra, Satria GSR, Satria GTI, Wiralution, Arena and other modded Wira... BUT majority offenders were still Wira.

6) WPN 1820 - Waja at 9.43pm along Jalan Universiti on 12/12/2009. Offences: Speeding, Zigzagging, Tailgating, NO signal.
7) BED 6662 - Corolla LE at 4.58pm on 13/12/2009. Sprint highway. Offences: 1) Speeding, 2) Tailgating, 3) Zigzagging.
8) WJH 8616 - HERO Toyota Unser Silver at 9.28am on 15/12/2009 from LDP (along 1 utama) to Kepong Taman Ehsan. Offences: 1) Speeding (130km/h on 80km/h zone), 2) tailgating, 3) zigzagging, 4) no signal. 5) Almost hit 2 cars.

THIEVES TARGET MYVI PREMIUM Airbags!
Recently (past 6 months), there's been numerous report from MYVI Owners that their MYVI Premium Airbags got stolen. There's 5 cases reported from MYVI Motorsports Club (myvi.com.my) members alone... Apparently, the thieves open the Bonnet using the Bonnet release cable (reachable by hand from front right tyre/wheelarch gap). Disable the alarm by short circuit the lights/fuse, then gain access to the interior and remove the airbags (using some hi-tech tools as there's no mark on the dashboard). These airbags costs RM5000+ to replace...
NOT ONLY THAT, According to one MYVI Club forummer "gunnereric89":
"Dear all...latest theft activity... Now they are stealing original Radios too...i got the news from my foremen..they got two myvi airbags and original radios stolen.. Not sure bout the place (think is in SRI RAMPAI area) but i heard that its the latest thing besides than our airbags.. Do be xtra careful my fellow members...
(NOTE: Applicable to THE LATEST FACELIFT RADIO/CD Player with MP3 and Bluetooth)"
MY HOUSE GOT 1 year 2007 MYVI SXI Premium BELONGED to my SISTER, so I ALSO WORRIED... I visited www.myvi.com.my and got some precautions/ideas from their members. Here's some:
1) Cover up or hide your Bonnet release cable away from hand reach... Better still, install a Steel plate to cover the Cable. This costs not more than RM100.
2) UPGRADE Alarm: If possible, buy the one that have beeping remote. If your car crying, your remote also can receive (ie. 2 way alarm). just a suggestion. But remember, put one more extra 12Vdc supply to your alarm. One MYVI Owner suggested this model which he said is EFFECTIVE w/o breaking the bank:
"Steelmate model 898G" with Autostart (Optional) & LCD+Vibrate transmitters. RM320 only.

MYVI owners beware! The most popular car in Malaysia is now being targeted by thieves.
Malay Mail learnt recently that syndicates have been stealing airbags, the single most expensive part in the car’s cabin — to resell them in the black market to unscrupulous parts dealers.
And while consumers can install “second hand” airbags from unauthorised dealers at cheaper prices at about RM1,000, instead of RM5,000 for a pair, many are unaware of the dangers — that the airbag may not function or may deploy at odd times. Or worse, it could explode and injure the installer.
What’s more worrying about this thieving trend is that it is not difficult to do for those with the expertise.
Following several complaints to Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua), the car manufacturing company found that there was a security weakness in the car that could be exploited.
Thieves with the technical know-how could apparently open up the Myvi hood easily, short-circuit certain equipment and gain access to all the vehicle doors. From that point onwards, stealing the airbags is a breeze.
Following months of research, Perodua has come up with a counterplan and has fixed
anti-theft features on new cars coming out next year.
Older models would, however, need to return to service centres for an upgrade.
This spate of bizzare Myvi airbag thefts, which began cropping-up last year, has also concerned police so much that Kuala Lumpur and Malacca police have formed special task-forces to target the syndicate. Kuala Lumpur deputy CID chief ACP Khairi Ahrasa said: “There have been more than 50 cases reported in the Sentul district itself.
“We have formed a taskforce and are investigating who may be behind the thefts,” he said, adding that there was a sudden increase since June this year.
Such thefts have been reported in Wangsa Maju, Setapak, and Kepong. A source said there have also been cases in Petaling Jaya, Brickfields and Cheras. Malacca CID chief ACP Adnan Abdulllah said the State had recorded more than 17 cases.
“The majority of the cases are in central Malacca. We have formed a taskforce to investigate the cases,” he said, adding that they are also working closely with their Kuala Lumpur counterparts.
And while Perodua itself has received about five complaints, the total number of unreported cases cannot be established.

Jangan "POTONG"! I sudah REGRET...
In 27 October 2009, I blogged about "I CUT ALREADY!" ie. Switched to P1-WIMAX. Guess what?
~I SUDAH MENYESAL (REGRET)...
The P1-WIMAX apparently is WORSE THAN STREAMYX! Why? Read on...
1) Not stable connection / Koneksi tak stabil (CRAWLING 7/10 occasions, FAST connection possible only after 1am)
2) Cloudy/heavy rain = SUPER SLOW CONNECTION. Ala. ASTRO.
3) Sometimes, it EVEN STOPPED Receiving PACKET DATA out of a sudden.
4) At RM100 it's EXPENSIVE...
Oh! Forgotten to mention my area... I'm in Section 17, Petaling Jaya. OLD 1960s Bungalow house... Surrounded by thousands of UTAR/UM students renting 2km RADIUS within my House (seen them around waiting for UM/UTAR Pick-up Buses near my house). Is this the REASON why BOTH STREAMYX and P1-Wimax = Below Par service... Ie. Heavy traffic...
Today, I just realised why my TM STREAMYX always "DSL Blinking" and LAN cannot detect... It's because my Aztech ADSL Modem gone Cuckoo after a heavy thunderstorm (occurred around 3 weeks ago). Borrowed my friend's ADSL modem and the Streamyx WORKED PERFECTLY and MORE STABLE THAN P1-WIMAX. Thank God I haven't REALLY CUT the Streamyx YET though it's only 512Kbps connection, RM66 w/o modem VS RM100 monthly for P1-WIMAX...
What can I do... "NASI SUDAH JADI BUBUR!". Adding salt to its wound, I signed up 2 yrs contract to entitle the FREE MODEM. Can someone tell me what should I do in this situation?

Longtermer #1, Update 17, Nov 09: Ford Telstar Ghia 16v
In this blog entry, I am updating my Ford Telstar i4 Ghia. This is the 17th update.
What's up in the month of November?
The BEST/WORST Fuel consumption is NOT recorded for this month as I have only 1 Recording done for this month.
As I am typing this, the Telstar only done 148,388km. Previous month, it's 148,148km. It covers >300km per month. Why is it so? It’s because my DAD is OVERSEA (traveling between China, Hong Kong and Vietnam) since October 24 till now… This means that I GET TO DRIVE HIS CIVIC FD2 2.0IVTEC. I drove his Civic ALMOST EVERYDAY. To Seremban in 3rd week of this month and Putrajaya (4 days and 3 night convention, ended yesterday).
Alright, back to the Ford Telstar, I only drive this car around Petaling Jaya, furthest Putrajaya (1 round). Every week, I fetched my BITCH Xiao Pai (a Cross-Spitz) to the Vet Clinic to clean her wound since October. She got bitten by Snake (at her back, see photo below).
Apparently, her wound got WORSE due to Rainy season. Maggots began to form. Today, ALL maggots DIED and removed, wound cleaned with IODINE and ANTI-Maggot spray.
As you can see from the pictures below, she enjoyed the ride.
Today, she even learned how to SIT properly in the car AND REFUSED TO GET OUT OF THE TELSTAR. Prior to today, she stood on the sit (balancing as the car turns), looking out of window most of the time. Here’s more pictures of Xiao Pai…
Again, Back to the TELSTAR, last month, I reported the Front tyres balding… I still haven’t changed the tyres. Instead I “OVERINFLATED” the tyres all 4 of them to 38psi. Why?
It’s because the Centre part of the front tyres still got 50% thread. Anyway, the Ride and handling is more balanced. Without further ado, let’s proceed to Logbook…

Purchase price: RM42,000 (Aug 2005)
Current value: RM13,000 (As at August 2009)
Depreciation per year (averaged): RM10500
Mileage last month: 148,148km
Mileage now: 148,388km

BEST: 10km/l (25 August 2009)
WORST: 5.9km/l (September 14, 2009) => 100% City driving
THIS MONTH (November):
BEST AND WORST NOT RECORDED… Only 2 fill ups, 1 is by Someone else (who borrowed my car) and the other one: RM50 (27.778L) = 250km, RON95 Shell. This means, it recorded 9km/L. This is one of the best achievements for the Telstar.
0-100km/h: 10.4 secs (27/9/2009). Previous run 10.8 secs (25 Aug 2009).
TODAY, As at 29 November,
Expenses (this month)
1) Fuel expenses (RM150)
2) Parking and tolls charges...
